Hand stitched beaded skunk charms.
These cute micro skunk charms are made in the brick stitch beading method with tiny (size 15, 1.3 x 1mm) Miyuki Delica glass seed beads. Each bead is stitched together with durable Fireline thread to achieve a flexible, lightweight but durable beaded charm. A closed sterling silver jump ring is stitched directly to the beadwork to make it easier to incorporate the charm into your own designs.
Approximate Size: w x h
Skunk > 1.7 cm (.7 inch) x 1.7 cm (.7 inch)
Closed jump ring > 2.15mm (1.25 inner diameter)
The beadwork is resilient with normal wear but please remember that the beads are made of glass, so crushing force will crack the beadwork. Clean with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.

The process of making the charm includes drawing the designs on graph-like paper or on a beading software program. The details are created and bead colors selected. Once I am satisfied, I hand stitch the beads together by following the pattern. The stitching method is called brick stitch beading, not to be confused with melting plastic Perler beads.
Materials: Delica beads are professional quality, cylinder shaped, glass seed beads known for it's uniform cut and wide array of colors. My thread of choice is Fireline. Fireline is processed using micro Dyneema (R) which is a synthetic fiber that is extremely strong.
The skunk beadwork is an original design.

Yes. You will need to know basic bead weaving stitches such as ladder stitch, peyote stitch and brick stitch. You will also need to know how to add thread (if your existing thread is too short), how to end your beadwork and how to add attachments or connector beads if making jewelry.
If needed, I will try my best to help you along by providing you with tips and video links. Please take time to view this youtube link if you are new to beadweaving, https://www.youtube.com/beadcrumbshawaii
Definitely not! Use either Peyote or Brick Stitch to weave your design.
I do not list a starting point because many beaders have their own preference. Please feel free to contact me if you have a question.
